Our mission is to make international education more accessible, flexible and affordable through effective use of digital technology and open educational resources and courses. We help universities to provide high quality online courses and blended learning experiences to learners and encourage academics to experiment with technological and pedagogical innovations through international collaborations.

Wolearn has helped build partnerships between UK and Chinese Universities to develop collaborative online and blended learning solutions for students in China. Wolearn has provided opportunities for large numbers of Chinese students, and their teaching staff to gain a firsthand experience of UK universities’ courses and approaches to teaching and learning. In return, UK universities were able to gain exposure for their undergraduate and higher degrees through these collaborations with Chinese students, staff and institutions. Individual academics are also paid for their time delivering online seminars.

Although based in the UK, the WoLearn model is open to and equally well supports non-UK universities and academics seeking to develop working partnerships with their Chinese counterparts. However course developers and those providing live online seminars must have a good command of spoken and academic English in order to communicate effectively with Chinese students who have English as a second language.
